No-Reindeer Stew

Reindeer stew is a typical Finnish dish, so, of course we had to make a vegetarian version of it! This recipe has already become one of the Pulled Oats® classics.

  • 240 g of Pulled Oats® Nude
  • Butter or oil for frying
  • 2 dl veg stock
  • 1 tsp whole allspice
  • Mashed potato
  • Pickled cucumbers
  • Lingonberry jam or
  • crushed lingonberries
  • (A spoonful of smetana)


  1. Make mashed potatoes using your own favourite recipe.
  2. Heat the vegetable stock.
  3. Add the butter or oil to a pan and heat over a medium heat. Add Pulled Oats® and fry for 2-3 minutes. Pour in the boiling vegetable stock and the whole allspice.
  4. Serve Pulled Oats® stew over the mashed potatoes. Garnish with pickles, lingonberries and smetana.
