SPICY QUICK SAMOSAS

Traditionally Samosas are deep-fried, but for this recipe we prepare them in the oven. We managed to make triangles, but some of our creations came out as rolls as well. Find your own style and keep in mind that the sesame seeds that decorate the surface will cover up the minor blemishes.

Ingredients

  • 240 g of Pulled Oats® Nude
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2–3 cm of fresh ginger
  • 4 boiled potatoes
  • 200 ml frozen peas
  • 2–3 tbsp of curry paste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp cardamom
  • Salt
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 pack of filo pastry

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
  2. Finely chop the onion and garlic and grate the fresh ginger. Heat some oil in a pan over a medium-high heat. Add the onions and ginger and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the Pulled Oats®. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Chop the peeled potatoes into 1 cm cubes and add to the onion mixture. Add the rest of the ingredients. Taste and adjust the seasoning. Allow to cool.
  3. Cut the defrosted filo pastry in half from the middle, then fold into a square. Fold again in half to create a triangle shaped form. Place one rounded teaspoon of the filling mixture onto the pastry and fold one more time, enclosing the filling and forming a new triangle.
  4. Brush with oil or butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for around 15 minutes, or until golden and crisp, turning halfway through the cooking time.
